Join ISPA and ISSWA for our second virtual Lunch and Learn session of the 25-26 school year, scheduled for February 27, 2026 at 11:00. At this session, we will host Elizabeth Balcarcel, Rapid Response Community Organizer with Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice (IMMJ), who runs the ICE Reporting Hotline, which provides resources, activates a rapid response team to observe, document, and remind individuals of their rights, or activates community defense teams who step in to support families when a detainment occurs. IMMJ's mission is "to build a movement for justice led by immigrants and refugees in Iowa by providing high-quality legal services and community empowerment through organizing."
